Cooper Young Festival!

I am ecstatic to announce that I will have my own booth at the Cooper Young Festival in Memphis on September 18th right in front of Celtic Crossing!

I've actually never been since it has always been during an Ole Miss home game. (Still is, but I already know we'll beat Vandy so I don't mind missing one!)

From now until then I just need to paint, paint, paint! (And of course study for my classes!)

Yum Yum Eat 'Em Up!

Here's the latest!

I'm really excited about these two!

oil on found paper

They are much bigger than the little canvases that I have been doing lately. There's something about blowing up an object, like a fork or a spoon, to an odd size that's really neat. It's like it's saying, "Hey! Look at me!"

Canvas is 8x16" and is 16x26" with frame

Harpeth Pres Silent Auction

This is from a while back and I never posted it until now. My church in Franklin, TN, Harpeth Presbyterian has a silent auction every year. This year, I was asked to put a piece in and gladly painted something for them!

It went for $100!

Here's a picture of the side of the canvas. No need to frame!

And there's my piece over to the far right!!
A closer look to some of the detail on the side of the frame.

And tada! This is the final piece. I believe it was a 9x12"?

I CAN'T TAKE IT ANY LONGER!!!

So I'm changing the course for the blog. Not sure if it's going to be just for this post, or if I'm going to add to it a lot more often now with inspirational pulls within interior design. I can't help it! I spend all of my free time (and lots of work time too) on stumbleupon.com and all these great other blogs that are all DIY.

I'm addicted to shabby chic. Well...we could put it in MUCH broader terms.

Shall we say "French Country/Shabby Chic/Sophisticated yet fun(?)
I'll probably add to that list of styles in a good 5 seconds flat.

So...this picture is not worth a thousand words...but a bajillion feelings everything I love!
(EXCEPT ONE MAJOR CHANGE WOULD HAVE TO BE THE OLE MISS SCHEDULE INSTEAD OF ARKANSAS...YUCK!)

Favorite aspect of this interior: the drawer pulls. It's my problem solver! I've been on the search for 8 pulls with the interior being 3.5" wide for over a year because the one I had was missing some. And I searched and searched, thought I found the perfect ones at Anthropologie, (the website even said they were 3.5" between screws!), to find out that they were 1/4" short. Ugah!

So this solves it! Just gotta find some awesome fabric (maybe scarves?) for the pulls now!

I'll post my new desk that I painted later! (And I just got a coffee table that I'm going to paint at Vet Thrift for $10 today!!) So definitely more to come!

Etsy Bound!

So I'm on Etsy now! For those of you not addicted to Etsy yet like I am, it is a site where people can sell and buy original artwork.

So please shop and stay a while!
